Jennifer Rene Psaki

  Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who worked as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party she has previously served in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House deputy director of communications (2009–2011), the spokesperson for the Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was an CNN political contributor between 2017 until 2020. Psaki began her professional career in 2001 by working on the re-election campaigns for Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki was later appointed as the press secretary's deputy in John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Psaki was also the director of communications for Joseph Crowley (U.S.) as well as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki returned in 2012 to the field of political communications and was the press secretary of President Obama’s 2012 campaign for reelection. [20] Psaki quit as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11 2013. [20] The speculations that she was going to replace Jay Carney White House Press secretary when he left the White House[21] were fuelled by her hire at the Department of State. However, Josh Earnest was announced as the replacement of Carney on May 30th the 30th of May, 2014. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and stayed through the end of the Obama administration.
